Empowering Small Businesses to Reduce Waste and Drive Circular Economy Innovation

What’s Available?

Eligible small businesses can access funding between $1,000 and $20,000 to invest in equipment or technology that reduces waste and supports sustainable practices.

Who Can Apply?

This grant is designed for small businesses and not-for-profit enterprises that:

  • Are based in the Territory and operate as a Territory enterprise
  • Have been operating for at least 12 months
  • Maintain an existing commercial waste collection service at a site in the FL
  • Are fully compliant with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations

Program Overview

The AHIG Sustainable Business Solutions initiative supports businesses in adopting innovative waste reduction technologies, helping transition the Territory towards a circular economy.

Funding can be used to procure commercial equipment or technology that contributes to:

  • Avoiding or preventing waste generation on-site
  • Reusing waste on-site or through collaboration with other businesses
  • Improving source separation and facilitating more efficient recycling

Examples of Eligible Equipment/Technology

Funding may be used to purchase items including, but not limited to:

  • Cardboard perforators
  • Commercial worm farms
  • Small-scale compactors, granulators, or shredders
  • Organics rapid decomposition units
  • Food and waste monitoring equipment

Applications will close on 30 June 2025, or earlier if the available funding is fully allocated. Interested businesses are encouraged to apply promptly.
