Application Procedure and Instructions
The American Heart Investment Group (AHIG) invites grant proposals from nonprofit organizations for projects that align with its mission:
To contribute to the Culture, Education, Health, and Social Service.

Funding Priorities
Culture
AHIG supports cultural institutions that provide impactful arts and science programs, particularly those fostering youth engagement and artistic development. Funded programs may include arts schools, museums, operas, ballets, symphonies, and performing arts centers.
Education
Grants are awarded to institutions demonstrating excellence in education, especially in higher education, K–12 innovation, early childhood education, and professional development.
Health
Support is extended to hospitals, medical centers, and public health institutions that enhance access to care and address workforce shortages. This includes funding for medical research, training for health professionals, and initiatives that produce broad public health outcomes.
Social Service
AHIG funds organizations addressing chronic poverty with scalable, effective models. Emphasis is placed on programs promoting economic independence, family strength, and long-term community impact.

Granting Policies
AHIG grants follow these core policies:
• Grants are awarded to nonprofit, tax-exempt (501(c)(3)) organizations only.
• Programs must have measurable objectives and community benefit.
• Funds are not provided for:
• Daily operational or consulting expenses
• Brick-and-mortar construction
• Matching government funds
• Personal or academic expenses
• Projects creating non-English materials
• Funds must be used within one calendar year, unless an extension is granted.

Funding Limitations
AHIG Does Not Fund:
• Organizations:
• Based outside the U.S.
• With expenses under $2 million
• In leadership transition (<1 year)
• Lacking IRS 501(c)(3) status
Proposals for:
• Events, festivals, or fundraisers
• Media production (TV, radio, books)
• Advocacy or political research
• Pilot programs or PRIs
• International scholarships or fellowships

Submission Policies
• Application Period: May 1 – July 15 annually
• Applications must be submitted through the AHIG Online Membership Portal
• If July 15 falls on a weekend, the deadline is the preceding Friday.
• Limit submission to the official application + 3 pages max of supporting documentation
• Incomplete applications or those started but not submitted within three months will be deleted
• Notification of receipt will be sent to the project leader only

Application Instructions
Applicants must follow the official AHIG format exactly. Use the corresponding numbers below to complete the form.
1. Project title
2. Designate a single Project Leader (AHIG’s main contact)
3. Organization’s contact info and tax-exempt classification (include federal ID)
4. Total amount requested
5. Itemized list of project-specific funding from other sources
6. Two references with contact information
7. One-page outline, including:
• Statement of need
• Project plan
• Timeline (must be completed in 1 year)
• 3 clear project goals
• Product(s) to be produced and distribution plan
8. Itemized budget specific to this grant
9. Product production/distribution details (if applicable)
10. Intellectual property rights details (if applicable)
11. Executive officer approval
12. Signed and dated Conditions of Grant
13. Use only the original Conditions of Grant form
