AHIG Risk Assessment Grant Program – Building Resilient Businesses Across Vulnerable Areas

AHIG Risk Assessment Grant Program – Building Resilient Businesses Across Vulnerable Areas

Applications Now Open

Is your small business located in a flood-prone or environmentally vulnerable area? The American Heart Investment Committee (AHIG) is now accepting applications for the Business Resiliency and Risk Assessment Grant Program. This initiative offers both a comprehensive on-site risk assessment and the opportunity to receive up to $10,000 in grant funding for resiliency measures that protect your business against climate-related and environmental disruptions.

💡

Program Overview

Through this initiative, the AHIG Committee is helping small business owners build stronger, safer, and more resilient enterprises. Eligible participants will receive a personalized risk assessment conducted at their commercial property, followed by detailed recommendations tailored to their operational and environmental risks. Grants of up to $10,000 will then be awarded to fund approved purchases of resiliency equipment such as:

  • Portable flood barriers
  • Emergency generators
  • Fireproof storage containers
  • Other committee-approved resiliency tools

✅

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for a risk assessment and potential grant, applicants must:

  1. Own or lease a commercial property located in a geographically vulnerable area.
  2. Be operating a small business at the commercial site for at least one year.
  3. Have annual revenue of $30 million or less (based on the most recent tax return).
  4. Be current on all federal, state, and local taxes, and not have outstanding liens or judgments.
  5. Maintain all relevant business licenses and permits.
  6. Not have previously received a resiliency-related grant or assessment from AHIG.
  7. Complete a full application, available online or via direct request from AHIG.

Only equipment recommended in the committee’s official risk assessment report is eligible for grant funding.
